A number of the travelling faithful at Queens Park Rangers on Saturday will be wearing bowler hats to recreate the days of the Preston North End Gentry.
The Gentry was a nickname the then manager Alan Ball gave the club's supporters in the early 1970s.

He was being interviewed by the press after a game at Halifax and famously commented: "Preston fans are the best, they're the gentry."

Fans responded by starting to wear bowler hats, and some even went a step further by attending matches in smart suits and carrying rolled umbrellas.

More than 30 years on, The Gentry is set to make a welcome return at Loftus Road.

Call into the Lancashire Evening Post's reception on Friday and recieve a free Gentry bowler hat when you purchase a copy of the LEP.
