We take a look around the new stand at Preston North End ahead of the official opening on Saturday.
The development, named after PNE's famous 1880s Invincibles side, will bring the capacity of Deepdale up to around 24,000.

Saturday's opening, when North End take on Crystal Palace, completes a 12-year redevelopment of the historic stadium which started in August 1996 with the official opening of the Finney Stand.

The Bill Shankly Kop followed in June 1998 and the Alan Kelly Town End was finished in November 2001.

The £6m-plus development will seat around 4,500 fans and include 21 executive boxes, two hospitality lounges, a players' bar and a new ground control box for police.

Click the play button above for a look at the new stand in all it's glory.

A far cry from the wooden benches in the old West Stand that I first sat my little cold bum on lol

We now have an amazing ground, lets just hope the boys do it justice this season :o)

Derek Shaw thank-you for the work you have put in to make this possible.

It is a very proud day for Preston and yourself let's just hope that our boys can make it one of the best grounds in the PREMIERSHIP next season.

Marvellous especiually when you look at the Shanty Town that is Gloomfield Road....... sorry that is offensive to Shanty Towns!!!!!

Anyone remember Degsy murking KO on Radio Rovers at the end of the season?

Gary Hickson, "We have 2 big teams and one small team in Lancashire"

KO, "I wouldn't class PNE as a small team."

Degsy, "At least we have 4 stands!!!!"

Well done, Derek. So much better now that's in place.

The old pavillion was state of the art (I think it was the first stand to have executive boxes, way back when), and i don't think there are many other stands in the league with a PCT building attached :-)!

My mate's dad used to be a PNE director in the 70s/80's and PNE used to wine and dine visitors in the grotty olg gym at the back of the pavillion stand!

How far we've come.

Can anyone tell me if we have kept the old crest that used to be on the old Pavillion Stand, and was formerly on the Town End roof?
Would be a shame if we lost it. Can we not have it on the new stand and be proud of our past while looking to the future??
And well done to everyone concerned with the Invincibles stand, we have waited a long time for this.
Omwards and upwards with the superwhites
