Doctors have finally solved the mystery of Callum Davidson's niggling knee problem and assured the Preston North End defender it is not serious.
The full-back was given the good news this week after pulling out of Saturday's game at Watford with yet another recurrence of the
injury which has so far blighted his season.

The diagnosis was a slight strain and minor damage to his posterior cruciate ligament. But no surgery is necessary.

"There is a little bit of damage there, but not anything significant," manager Alan Irvine told the Evening Post.

"Thankfully it doesn't need an operation. Callum has been told to see how it feels. There is no timescale on it, we will simply monitor how it goes.

"We are hoping it will settle down in a couple of days. But there is no need to rush him with not having a game this weekend.

"He could be training by the end of the week, although we will probably err on the side of caution and wait until next Monday and see how it is.

"The important thing is we get it right and he doesn't come back until he is feeling perfectly okay."

re post #4, if you wish to call it moaning, then fine, but dignosis is often 75% of the problem. If you know what to treat, then you save time. Not moaning, but an observation.... and hark at he harking at I, with a name like Jonah, I guess you've been on the Derby (LC), Wolves and Swansea games at Deepdale this season ??

Methinks North Hend Surgery (NHS) probably strapped his arm up for the knee ligament injury ???!!

hello mickypne, tis Biblical. We'd probably get a better explanation off Reverand Keith, but I'll have a go. It was something to do with God giving Jonah a task to do but he ran away to sea and the ship sank because Jonah was on it, and there was no chance of survival whilst Jonah was on the ship. Whilst the old family has been religous (in Preston, St.Marks), I just remember some bible stories from being a kid at Eldon Street Primary and then Cadley Primary ... a Jonah has always been one who is "unlucky" for whoever he is with. I even have a couple of Wolves mates (sorry!) one of whom is known as Jonah -shame HE didn't go to Deepdale the other week !

here endeth today's lesson, and thanks for the prompt mickypne, am always happy to explain a comment if required.

My dad saw Sir Tom play, best player he ever saw,

Bolton 08/10/2008 11:19:04
Why does it take weeks to find out what wrong?

Well Maybe he damaged his PCL on Friday when he took a knock and reported it on Saturday. I reckon thats 4 days to find out what's wrong.

PNE better than the Premiership, whatever next.

Please stop knocking the club, it doesn't help!!!!!!

I'm with M-o-R, Callum has been injured for a few games now, not just last Friday. If PNE had diagnosed him "appropriately", then we may have seen him in the side for 90 mins. If this is a "fresh injury" then nobody has stated so.

Post10 - you taking grumpy pills ? and my Dad saw TF play too so ner ner.
