As the LEP celebrates its 120th birthday, editor Simon Reynolds looks at the paper's success stories and how going online has added a new dimension to how news reaches the streets.
The Evening Post is proud to have served the people of Lancashire for 120 years. Our newspaper has always been at the heart of community life, striving to inform and entertain with our unrivalled news, sports and features sections.

Local news and sport is what really matters to our busy team of journalists because we know local news is what matters most to you, our readers.

And in this modern digital age we have never been in a better position to ensure we bring you the vital stories within minutes of them happening.

Our website breaks the Lancashire news that matters first, with updates throughout the day, and in the next few weeks our award-winning online service will be improved even further with the launch of our new-look www.lep.co.uk site.

But while we are embracing new technology we have not forgotten what has made the Lancashire Evening Post a friend to so many people down the years.

These are exciting times for Lancashire and exciting times for the Evening Post. The new digital revolution means our readers will play a bigger part than ever in helping us to shape events. If you have a story to tell or a photo to show us we want to hear from you. We want to build a partnership with all sections of Lancashire's community that will last for another 120 years.
