St Patrick's Catholic Primary School in Walton-le-Dale have booked their place in the mini-tennis finals at the SPAR Lancashire Youth Games.
The South Ribble district qualifying event was staged at the South Ribble Tennis Centre in Bamber Bridge.

And St Patrick's overcame runners-up St Leonard's Cof E Primary, also in Walton-le-Dale, to book their place in the final at the same venue on July 9.

Our Lady and St Gerard's won the district athletics event in a qualifier staged at Hutton Grammar School, when they overcame St Patrick's, Howick Primary, and runners-up St Teresa's Catholic Primary in Penwortham.

The county athletics final is at Salt Ayre Sports Centre in Lancaster on Thursday, July 2.

And Leyland Methodist beat eight other schools to win the Kwik Cricket district finals staged at Leyland Cricket Club.

Our Lady and St Gerard's were second, with Cop Lane third.

Also competing were St Teresa's, Lever House, Moss Side, Broadoak, Seven Stars and Farington.

Like the athletics, the county kwik cricket final is at Salt Ayre Sports Centre in Lancaster on Thursday, July 2.

Overall, the various events are bringing together more than 2,000 school pupils from 120 of the county's schools and colleges.

The programme includes more than 100 intra-school selection trials, 84 sports-specific district finals, six sports-specific county finals and the Lancashire Youth Disability Games on June 30 in Blackpool.
