Ricky Hatton has sold 50,000 tickets for his homecoming bout in just two days.
And there are only 5,000 tickets left for his May 24 fight at the City of Manchester Stadium against Mexican Juan Lazcano.

The Hyde-based Hitman was at the stadium, where he has an executive box, for the Tottenham game and saluted the crowd along with club owner Dr Thaksin Shinawatra.

Said Hatton: "To sell so many tickets in two days has left me speechless. I'm so proud of my fans. I've not fought in Manchester for three years and not everyone can afford to keep watching me in America so it was time I had a homecoming."

His father, Ray, who is the champion's manager, added: "Word is we could have sold another 25,000 such was the demand. All records for fights in this country are now shattered."
