Lancaster City look for cash boost

Lancaster City hit the FA Cup trail chasing a welcome cash boost as they play Salford City at Giant Axe tomorrow.
Prize money of £1,500 is up for grabs for the winners of the preliminary round tie, the pot then going up to £3,000 in the first qualifying round.
And if the Dolly Blues could get all the way to the first round, they'd be guaranteed £12,500.
City boss Barrie Stimpson said: "A run in the FA Cup is a real financial boost these days.
"I'm quite sure the future budget for a lot of clubs at this level depends on how far they get in the competition.
"Fortunately, we have our wage bill in place for the whole season because of the sensible way we run things here.
"Just 10 years ago you'd be having to win four or five games just to get the amount on offer, so it's nice the FA recognises clubs at grassroots level.
"If you get to the first round and win, it's £20,000, a fantastic sum for clubs such as us."
Lancaster will be without Guy Heffernan tomorrow, the defender starting a three-match ban for a red card at Harrogate RA on the opening day.
Otherwise, Stimpson has a near full-fit squad, City coming through a Bank Holiday double header against FC Halifax Town and Curzon Ashton without injury problems.
They beat Halifax 2-0 and drew 1-1 at Curzon, Stimpson pleased with a seven-point haul from their first four games.
He said: "It's a decent points total, the only disappointment was the Skelmersdale loss, on a bad day at the office.
"Everyone is beating each other, after three games no one had 100%, pretty amazing.
"Long may that continue so the league remains competitive – we could have 15 teams pushing for the play-offs!
"Salford are from our division and got thumped at Clitheroe on Monday, but it will be a tough game.
"Against Halifax and Curzon we looked more solid and were still creating chances at the other end, which was good.
"Sometimes when you try and tighten things up at the back, you lose a little creativity, but thankfully that didn't happen."
