Seven days ago Bamber Bridge played Halifax Town off the park and silenced a big crowd at The Shay.
But the same starting XI received a drubbing by a Blue Star side who could have scored 10 if not for poor shooting and fine stops from home keeper Andy Banks.
Brig boss Phil Entwistle named an unchanged starting line-up and began in lively fashion, with livewire Alex Porter, Neil Zarac and Ryan-Zico Black looking dangerous.
Blue Star had their first chance as a cross found Chris Fawcett, who cut in but shot high and wide, but they were ahead after 19 minutes after a cross by the impressive Jamie McClen, flicked on by Neal Hooks for Paul Brayson to head across goal and in.
McClen pulled the strings, and Hooks crossed for Brayson to go close again while Banks stopped Brayson's next effort.
Zarac outpaced the defence after a long clearance but his shot from outside the box lacked power and Lowson collected.
McClen picked out Chris Emms but his cross was safely gathered as Brayson lurked.
At the other end Porter went close, as did Brayson for Blue Star before Black's lay-off saw Adam Tong's shot blocked.
Brayson's indecision allowed Banks to collect, and Brig ended the half positively, a decent move ended with a Neil Spencer shot and Black's corner causing panic before Zarac scooped over two inches out and Tong's acrobatic overhead kick from a Black cross went close.
After the break, two goals in as many minutes killed off Brig.
On 49 minutes an exchange along the edge of the box ended as Hooks shot in off the post.
And on 51 minutes, another incisive move helped Emms set up Hooks to beat Banks.
Fawcett and Brayson again came close before a free-kick outside the area led to Leon Scott curling an effort into the top corner.
After Danny Mahoney shot wide, another quick Blue Star break was thwarted by Allan Fleming's timely tackle.
The visitors kept going, and Brayson and Emms threatened again before Brayson laid on for Hooks, but he hoofed over.
Sub Sean O'Neil's shot from the edge of the box then narrowly wide, yet he got on the scoresheet on 79 minutes with a header from Mike Mason's corner.
And Brig will be hoping for better fortunes today, as they travel to Skelmersdale United.
Meanwhile, Kendal Town, away to Whitby Town today, moved to eighth in the UniBond Premier Division with a 2-0 home win over Eastwood Town on Saturday, Alex Taylor and player-boss Lee Ashcroft the scorers.
