A tractor burst into flames in the middle of a Lancashire village.
Worried locals rushed out of their homes in Elswick near Preston at around 4.30pm on Tuesday after hearing several explosions coming from the vehicle in High Street.

Student Iain Thorley, 21, who lives in the village and captured the drama on his mobile phone, said: "I was in the house and I heard a bang.

"There was a big ball of flames and smoke everywhere.

"I ran out to see if the person in the tractor was all right but he'd made it out. It kept exploding.

"The petrol tank must have exploded because there was a big line of fire going down the road."

* The picture and video were supplied by LEP reader Iain Thorley.
