A firm of accountants looks set to expand in Preston after posting healthy profits.
The Tenon Group has achieved 25% growth by taking on new clients at its Preston office after it took over Bowmans solicitors last year.

Profits at the business are up by 34% nationally to £17.6m with turnover up to £28m across the region.

Bob Rawkins, Managing Director of the Preston office, said: "I think it would be odd if we weren't very pleased.

"In not the greatest of economic circumstances we've had a very good year and an awful lot of hard work has gone into making it so. Tenon can justifiably give itself a corporate pat on the back.

"We are showing growth in sales, growth in profits and growth in cash flow and getting those things to work in harmony is really what business is all about."

Mr Rawkins said Tenon, which employs 400 staff in the north west including at its offices in Chorley and Preston, hoped to boost turnover to £250m.

He added that the company was always looking for fresh talent and had recently taken on new corporate tax manager Jonathan Powell and business services manager Lewis Saltariche in Preston.

Mr Rawkins added: "We're committed to Preston and to further developing the firm, which will result in new appointments and will help to deliver additional prosperity to the city."

Jane Parry, director of tax in Tenon's Preston office, said: "We have achieved great growth during the past 12 months.

"Both Jonathan and Lewis's appointments will help to further strengthen the team and will ensure that we deliver continually high levels of service to our client base. We are delighted to welcome them both on board."
