Drug squad police have swooped on suspected Class A drug dealers in a series of dramatic dawn raids.
Five officers in full body protection smashed through the door of a terraced house on Atkinson Close in Preston at 8am on Monday.

Search teams, support units, uniformed officers and PCSOs were there in support.

A second raid was carried out at an address on Moor Lane in Preston.

The raids were the start of a week-long operation across Lancashire called 'Protecting People'.

A spokesman for Lancashire Police said: "All the warrants this morning have come from intelligence from the community either through Crimestoppers or anonymously through police channels, and from police intelligence which has come through following up information from the community."

At the second home in Moor Lane, one officer was armed with a shield to combat a Rottweiler inside.

Search teams were looking through both properties on Monday morning.

Passers-by watched and neighbours came out of their homes as officers charged up a flight of stairs to the first floor house, which is above shops in Moor Lane.

Officers took several attempts to break down the PVC door before charging inside.
