Diesel on one of Preston's busiest roads caused two crashes in less than half-an-hour.
A lorry overturned and a motorcyclist came off his bike in the incidents on Eastway in Fulwood on Wednesday, causing tailbacks for drivers.

In the first incident, a wagon ended up on its side as it tried to negotiate the roundabout at the junction with Andertons Way at 12.30pm. The lorry driver was uninjured.

And a short while later a biker had to be taken to the Royal Preston Hospital after he fell off his bike at the Sherwood Way roundabout.

He suffered hip injuries but they are not thought to be life-threatening.

Yeah, hip injuries aren't usually life threatening.

Not sure if you're being factious, Ex-Callon but hip injuries can be life threatening. Many old people break hips in falls and develop pneumonia from which they never recover.

Hey, Pink...take a chill pill buddy and lighten-up.

The 2 roundabouts are a mile apart. Maybe the diesel sloshed out of a truck as it went round them, or else it could be leaving a trail 100s of miles long. I saw a trail of oil in the gutter on Sherwood Way yesterday, though this might not be connected. Oil causes 300 motorbike accidents every year and there is an organization called KillSpills that campaigns for awareness of this issue. Must have been a lot of oil to cause a truck to tip over.

There was a huge slick of diesel from Broughton through to Inskip this morning. It made cycling to work a bit hairy!!

Hey Notlob ... Pink was simply stating a fact. No need to slap him. Skid on a diesel spill, break a hip - you'll need more than a chill pill.
