Police have stepped up their hunt for axe-wielding robbers who raided a Lancashire jewellers in broad daylight.
New CCTV images have been released of two masked men who stole thousands of pounds worth of stock from George Banks Jewellers on Poulton Street in Kirkham at around 1.15pm on March 5.

The men made off in a dark coloured BMW which was found abandoned on Sunnybank a short time later.

The two members of staff inside the shop were not injured though they were left shaken.

Det Sgt Sue Cawley, of Blackpool CID, said: "We are appealing for witnesses to this robbery and would especially like to talk to anyone who may have seen the car, a black BMW estate, which came onto Poulton Street from the Preston direction prior to the robbery."

The masked robbers are of medium build and wearing dark clothing.

Kirkham business leaders have called for CCTV cameras to be installed in shops across the area since the robbery.
