A SURVEY has shown that 63% of jobseekers in the North West are confident of finding a job in the next 12 months.

Research by totaljobs.com revealed that jobseeker confidence in the North West has soared in the past 12 months, with the number of unemployed confident of finding a job in the next year jumping from 48% in 2011 to 63%.

Depsite the rise in confidence, the percentage of unemployed people out of work for longer than 12 months has risen to 19%.

Jacqueline Corbett, regional manager, North West, totaljobs.com said of the findings: “Application rates remain robust for jobs in the North West proving that jobseekers in the region are confident in demonstrating their experience and transferable skills, flexing from public to private sector opportunities and vice versa.

“With the digital age taking such prominence in the Olympics Opening Ceremony, it’s only apt that we are seeing the rise of the ‘techno jobseeker’, with more people using mobile devices to look and apply for jobs on the go.”
