A woman is in hospital in a critical condition after being struck by a train.
The 42-year-old woman from Chorley suffered serious leg injuries after being hit by a train at Leyland train station on Sunday evening.
Emergency services were scrambled to the scene shortly before 7.30pm.
Fire crews from Bamber Bridge, Leyland, Preston and Penwortham attended.
Police and the North West Ambulance Service also attended the scene.
Firefighters and paramedics released the woman from under the train and she was taken to hospital in Chorley.
Fire crews used a long board and extension ladder to free the woman.
A spokesman for the British Transport Police said the incident wasn’t being treated as suspicious.
The train was the Northern Rail service from Blackpool North to Wigan.
Trains on the line were delayed by about 30 minutes.
