Woman cut free after collision

A 57-year-old woman was taken to hospital this evening after a road accident in Cockerham, near Lancaster.

The woman’s car was involved in a collision with a lorry on Marsh Lane shortly after 3.30pm.

Firefighters from Lancaster and Morecambe attended and cut the woman free from her vehicle.

She was taken by ambulance to the Royal Lancaster Infirmary. Her condition is not yet known.

The road was closed in both directions while the emergency services dealt with the incident.
