Woman ‘critical’ after collision with motorcycle

A woman pedestrian has been critically injured after colliding with a motorbike in Leyland.

Police have issued an appeal for witnesses to the incident which happened on Golden Hill Lane at around 9.50am on Tuesday.

The woman, a 44-year-old who lives locally, was taken to the Royal Preston Hospital by ambulance with a serious head injury.

The motorcyclist, a 42-year-old man, was also treated in hospital and was later helping police with their enquiries.

The road was closed by police for three hours for investigation purposes.

Sgt Rob Gomery said: “This collision has left the woman in a critical condition and I would urge any witnesses or anyone with information that could assist with our on-going investigation to contact us.”
