Is your child starting school this September?
Have you considered the benefits of an Independent Education?

Come and join us for our Activity Morning for Reception Children

SATURDAY 5 MARCH 2011 9.30am-11.30am

Please come and meet our staff who will be happy to discuss the first important steps in your child’s education. There will be many activities for children including a free Tumble Tots session.

Kirkham Grammar Junior, Infant and Pre-School is an integral part of Kirkham Grammar School with its own Head and facilities. Boys and Girls are welcomed into the Pre-School at age 3 and continue through the Junior School until the majority transfer to the Senior School at age 11. There are considerable educational benefits to being a 3-18 school.

Children are encouraged and nurtured in the Junior, Infant and Pre-School where favourable pupil: teacher ratios and close pastoral support enable us to bring out the best in every child. Children thrive in our warm and welcoming environment. They experience a happy and purposeful atmosphere where there is always a ‘buzz’ of activity and where learning is a pleasure. Self-confidence is developed, along with educational challenge and valuable social and leadership skills.

Our Pre-School provides a wide range of opportunities, challenges and experiences for your child to grow and develop, with a range of exceptional resources and facilities in a purpose-built setting. But our school is not just about the wonderful facilities, it is the atmosphere and ethos that distinguishes our truly outstanding Pre-School. Our highly experienced staff recognise that self-esteem and self-confidence are an essential foundation for nurturing success and our children can grow and develop in a caring and loving atmosphere.

In the Junior and Infant School we cater for children aged 4-11 years old and welcome not only our own Pre-School children into the Reception Class, but also children entering KGJS for the first time.

Following the Foundation Stage curriculum, life in our beautifully equipped Reception classes is a lot of fun. The introduction of more formal learning is blended with play-based learning, so that every child can’t wait to come to school. There are a wide range of exciting subjects aimed to inspire and enthuse. We believe that the development of the children in our care is the single most important thing in the world. They come to us open and eager to learn and we nurture and cherish them as they explore their own completely individual abilities and talents in relation both to themselves and the world around them.

The Pre-School day runs from 8.30am to 5.45pm and the Infant and Junior School from 8.30am – 3.45pm. There is Breakfast Club from 7.45am for Early Birds at all ages. For Junior and Infant children there are a range of extra-curricular activities until 5.00pm with Infant children being looked after until 5.45pm.
