Volunteers in Preston have joined together to help finish a therapy garden for military veterans.

Residents clubbed together to help complete work at Dig In North West’s garden in Ashton Park.

They spent Saturday painting fences, painting a cabin and installing lighting and preparing to lay a new path.

Donna Rowe-Green, founder and senior horticultural therapist for Dig In North West, said: “The people of Preston have made a huge difference to a small project.

“I am constantly overwhelmed by the generosity of local residents as they give up their time, often over their rare weekends off.

“Local businesses have also shown their support in so many practical ways, and for that we are also immensely grateful.

Dig In North West is a new, not for profit organisation, that will be running horticultural therapy sessions for military veterans experiencing any kind of emotional challenge as a result of their service. For more information contact Donna on 07810128019.
