Volunteer for Marie Curie's Great Daffodil Appeal

The Great Daffodil Appeal is Marie Curie’s biggest annual fund-raising campaign, which takes places throughout March, but the charity needs people to sign up to volunteer now.

Sophie Yates, community fund-raiser for the area, visited Hoghton Tower to launch the appeal and spread the word.

She said: “We are calling on the people of Lancashire to help us make every daffodil count this year. All you have to do is encourage people to give a donation and wear a daffodil pin, it’s that simple. So round up your friends, family and colleagues and together we can help Marie Curie provide free confidential and practical support to more people affected by terminal illness who need it and research into better ways of caring for people living with a terminal illness.”

Local collections are in Chorley on March 18 and Heskin Farmers Market and Craft Centre on March 26.
