Sales soared as Preston’s Indoor Market hosted its first ever vintage fair on Saturday.
Footfall was up more than 25 per cent when the upper level boardwalk of Preston Market was transformed, as 24 specialist stalls popped up to sell a variety of vintage fashion, jewellery, accessories, gifts and homewares.
The vintage fair’s organisers Dolly Dazzler Presents invited stallholders with a love of the past to join in the fun and they didn’t disappoint.
The range of stalls, which included Cupcake, The Gingham Flamingo and Knot Like That, captured Preston’s Guild spirit and showcased the city’s thriving vintage trade.
Customers travelled from all over the country to shop and enjoyed the ‘vintage-themed’ entertainment and refreshments on hand. The event’s friendly atmosphere and support for local businesses means that shoppers and traders alike are eager for it to return in the future.
A spokesman from the indoor market said: “The footfall for the weekend was up 26 per cent from the Saturday before, which is quite something as that too was considered a good weekend. With regards to future events, this is being looked into due to how popular it was but no set dates or arrangements have been made yet.”
