A stand-off with police sparked a lengthy road closure that disrupted businesses in Leyland.
Police negotiators were called in after a shirtless man hanging from a broken window on Hough Lane threatened to jump on Saturday.
The stand-off started at around 8.20am and the road was closed for around four hours.
One local businessman said: “It has been a terrible day for business on Hough Lane and a dangerous place for families.”
The road was shut between Thurston Road and Churchill Way while officers attempted to talk the man down.
Video footage taken at the scene appears to show the man standing on a ledge above the Wardrobe Boutique, throwing what witnesses say were pieces of glass onto the street below and shouting obscenities.
The incident was concluded at 12.30pm, when the man, who has not been named, came down from the window ledge and was arrested on suspicion of causing an affray.
