Update: Woman dies after scooter crash

An elderly woman who was hurt in a crash between a car and a scooter has died.

Emergency services were called to Ribbleton Avenue, Preston, around 6.50am on Tuesday, October 20, after reports a 76-year-old woman driving a mobility scooter had collided with a silver Peugeot.

Officers said the woman suffered a head injury and two suspected broken legs and was taken to Royal Preston Hospital.

A road closure between Farringdon Lane and Ribbleton Hall Drive was in place.

Police are appealing for witnesses.
