Update: Lancashire cyclist dies after crashing into wall

Police say a cyclist who died after crashing into a stone wall in Yorkshire is a man from Carnforth.

The 38-year-old was cycling near Pateley Bridge in North Yorkshire at about 4pm on Friday with a friend, when he lost control and hit a wall.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man has not yet been named, but police have issued an appeal for witnesses to come forward.

The road was closed until 7.15pm on Friday while investigations took place.
