A teen has been charged with allegedly stabbing a schoolboy in a Preston play park.

A 15-year-old boy was stabbed in a Preston play park at around 9pm on Bank Holiday Monday.

The schoolboy was stood with friends in a children’s play area near Cadley Causeway when he was stabbed him in the thigh with a knife.

The attacker fled and the 15-year-old victim was taken to Royal Preston Hospital where he was treated for a small puncture wound to his thigh.

The victim has since left hospital but now a 14-year-old will appear at Preston Youth Court later today on suspicion of wounding with intent.

And Lancashire police called on anyone with any information about the attack to get in touch.

DC Justin Singleton of Preston CID said: “I urge anyone with any information at all please to come forward.
