A DRIVER was arrested following a crash on a Lancashire motorway on Friday evening.
Emergency services were called to the M55 between junctions four and three on the eastbound carriageway, at about 8.50pm.
A car had crashed into the embankment near Marton Circle and police, fire crews, paramedics and accident investigators were at the scene.
The police helicopter was also called, and a section of the eastbound carriageway was closed.
There were no serious injuries, but motorway police said the driver was arrested for providing a positive breath test.
