Two people have died following separate car crashes in the Preston area within 24 hours.
An elderly woman died following an accident in Penwortham.
And a middle-aged man died following a crash in Fulwood yesterday.
Police are investigating the full circumstances of both incidents.
Emergency services, including the air ambulance, were called to Kingsfold Drive, Penwortham, at 5.40pm on Monday.
A Honda Jazz collided with a wall, and Lancashire police later confirmed the 70-year-old driver, from Penwortham, had died.
Police said there was nobody else in the car and no other vehicles were involved.
The road was closed for three hours for collision investigation.
Meanwhile, police officers attended another fatal incident yesterday afternoon.
They said a Peugeot 307 was involved in the accident on Eastway shortly before 4pm yesterday.
Eastway was closed in both directions between the Lancashire Evening Post offices and Asda for more than two hours.
An ambulance was at the scene and there were traffic tailbacks in the area.
It is not believed any other vehicle was involved in the accident, in which the Peugeot collided with a lamp-post. The driver was taken to Royal Preston Hospital but pronounced dead on arrival.
Accident investigators and vehicle recovery teams were at the scene.
Police said they believed the driver, a man, was from the Blackpool area and were trying to trace and inform relatives.
The man’s identity has not yet been released.
