Two people have been taken to hospital after a crash involving three cars.

The emergency services were called to Runshaw Lane, Euxton, at 8.30am today for an incident involving a red Peugeot 107, a green Ford Focus and a black Vauxhall Corsa.

The road was blocked near the motorway bridge and one of the vehicles was reported to have come off the road.

Two people required treatment for “minor” injuries.

A spokesman for North West Ambulance Service said: “We took two people - one to Royal Preston Hospital and one to Chorley District Hospital - by ambulance.

“The injuries weren’t serious.”
