Two men have been fined for separate waste-related offences.
William Quinn, 18, of Oxford Street, Preston, was found guilty in his absence at South Ribble Magistrates and fined £55 for littering. He also has to pay £75 costs and a £20 victim surcharge.
He was caught dropping a fast food wrapper and sauce carton at the Capitol Centre in Walton-le-Dale.
Gerard Ward, 32, of Exchange Street, Accrington, was fined £450 for now being a registered waste carrier.
He was caught loading a van with household items behind Hough Lane, Leyland, He also has to pay £75 costs and £45
The prosecutions were brought by South Ribble Council. Coun Peter Mullineaux, said: “These latest prosecutions show that we do not tolerate littering or unregistered waste carriers operating in the borough.”
