Tree hit by lightning in Leyland park
A tree was hit by lightning in a Lancashire park today as the weather suddenly changed for the worse.
Firefighters were called to Worden Park, Leyland,this afternoon, after reports of a lightning strike.
The humid weather had suddenly turned stormy and thundery,
Officers from Leyland found a tree son fire and used a hosereel to put out the flames.
A fire brigade spokesman said there was no other damage to the park and no further reports in the area as yet.
