Woman, 76, injured in collision in Haslingden

Police are appealing for witnesses after a 76-year-old woman was injured in a collision in Haslingden yesterday.

At around 1.05pm on Blackburn Road, a Renault Clio travelling towards Bury Road was involved in a crash with a lamppost on the offside of the road and overturned.

A 76-year-old local woman was taken to Royal Blackburn Hospital where she remains in a serious condition.

The road was closed for around two and a half hours for an investigation.

PS Sean Cunningham, of the Road Policing Unit, said: “I’d like to thank those who have already helped us with our enquiries and I am keen to speak to anyone else who may have witnessed what happened so that we can establish exactly how this collision came to occur.”
