A sewage tanker overturned on a major Preston road, causing miles of tailbacks.
Traffic jams built up on the A6 and on the motorway following the incident at about 10.30am on Wednesday.
Police, fire engines and paramedics were called to the northbound carriageway of Garstang Road at Broughton, after a tanker, being pulled by a tractor, overturned.
The road was partially blocked, and traffic queued as far as the Black Bull pub.
Fire crews from Preston attended to implement environmental protection measures, and paramedics were called as a precaution.
Nobody was taken to hospital.
