Road closed after motorcyclist airlifted to hospital near Preston

A motorcyclist has been injured after a crash near Preston.

Lancashire Road Police said the crash happened on Rosemary Lane, Bartle, at around 12.30pm today (August 19).

It is believed the rider collided with a tree and the NW Air Ambulance was sent to the scene.

The man suffered serious leg injuries but was conscious and breathing when emergency services arrived, police said.

His injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

Officers closed off the road between Blackleach Lane and Crown Lane and diversions were put in place.
