Pay and display charges at city centre car parks are to be frozen.

The decision was made by Preston Council’s cabinet member for community and environment, Coun Robert Boswell, for charges to be frozen for the coming year at Avenham, Market Hall, Hill Street and Trinity Square car parks.

Coun Boswell said: “We have made the decision to freeze pay and display charges at four of our car parks to make it easier for shoppers, visitors, commuters and businesses to access the city centre.

“The freeze has been put on for the forthcoming year.

“We have made a lot of improvements to the city centre and there will hopefully be more to come, so now we want people to easily access parking close to the city centre and enjoy the ongoing regeneration.”
