A man is in an induced coma in hospital at Preston after being found with serious head and chest injuries following a collision with a car in the city.
Police say the 47-year-old victim was discovered in Garstang Road at around 10.50pm on Saturday.
A spokesman said: “officers were called to Garstang Road near the junction of Lytham Road and Watling Street Road following reports of a collision between a man and a white Volkswagen car.
“A 47-year-old man from Blackburn was found with head and chest injuries and taken to Royal Preston Hospital for treatment. He is currently in an induced coma.”
The busy main road was closed for around two hours while accident specialists carried out an investigation at the scene. The male car driver was unhurt.
Officers have appealed for anyone who may have seen the collision to contact them by ringing 101 quoting log reference number 1513.
