A driver was taken to hospital with a suspected heart problem after a crash in Preston.
The man was treated by a fast response paramedic at the scene in Blackpool Road, Lea on Friday evening before being taken by ambulance to the Royal Preston Hospital.
A woman, whose car was involved in the accident, was also transported to hospital after collapsing in the roadway shortly after the collision. She was believed to be suffering from shock and cuts and bruises.
A fire crew from Preston was despatched to the scene of the crash near to the Lea Gate Hotel, but both casualties had already been freed.
“There was already a paramedic on scene attending to a man with a potential cardiac issue,” said a fire service spokesman.
“But our personnel treated a female who had got herself out of the other vehicle and collapsed in the roadway as a result of what appeared to be anxiety.
“Two ambulances took them to the Royal Preston Hospital.”
