A £150,000 upgrade to Chorley’s power supply is underway.

Electricity North West has started to install over three kilometres of new underground electricity telecommunications cable between Woodfield Road to Shaw Brow in Whittle-le-Woods.

The project, due to finish in September, aims to improve reliability by replacing 40 year old cables with modern and efficient fibre cables.

There will be temporary traffic lights in place during the project which will be manned during peak times:

- Shaw Brow near the junction of Preston Road – August 5 to 10

- New Moss Lane near the BP Garage – August 12 to 17

Preston Road near the Sea View Inn – August 17 to 22

Park Road to Chorley Hall Road– September 24 to 26

There will also be a one-day closure on Woodfield Road and Millfield Road on September 20 and on Chorley Hall Road on September 27.
