Collision closes busy Preston city centre road

Police say the road was blocked when a VW Golf and a Vauxhall Vectra collided at the mini-roundabout at Osbourne Way near to the Home Bargains store.

Paramedics were called to the scene, although it is not known what the extent of the injuries are.

Bus services which use Deepdale Road - the main Preston Bus depot is only yards from the accident scene - were affected.

A police spokesperson said: “We were called just before 10am to reports of a two vehicle collision on Deepdale Road near to Osbourne Way.

“The road is closed at the mini-roundabout and also at the junction of Deepdale Road and Fletcher Road.

The ambulance are in attendance. We have no information about injuries at this stage.”
