A train has hit a car on a level crossing in Lancashire.
The incident happened on Slackwood Lane in Silverdale at about 7.05pm on Tuesday.
A spokesman for British Transport Police said: “We were called following reports of a car being struck by a freight train at Silverdale level crossing.
“British Transport Police officers attended and discovered a car had been struck by a train.
“Nobody was injured and the train remained upright.
“Officers are now working with the fire service to remove the car and have launched an investigation to determine how it came to be on the tracks.
“The driver of the car and train will also be interviewed.”
Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service said the train was not carrying any passengers, and the train driver was being treated for shock.
