All main roads will be gritted today from 4pm in Wyre, Fylde and Lancaster districts.

The odd snow flurry is possible until around 6pm, but these will be light. An area of patchy sleet/snow will track close to the area through the early hours of Tuesday morning. Southern areas are most at risk.

All main roads in east Lancashire are to be gritted tonight from 7pm. Snow and ice is predicted and temperatures reaching -3.5C are expected.

Main roads in south and central Lancashire will be gritted tonight from 6.30pm.

Frost and temperatures reaching -2.8C is expected, so there is a risk of ice across roads. Motorists are being warned to take care if driving tonight, especially on untreated roads.

Traffic delays include:

Slow traffic on A5085 Blackpool Road eastbound in Ribbleton, Preston, at Cemetery Island.

A677 Higher Eanam / Copy Nook in Blackburn busy but moving at the Higher Audley Street traffic lights junction.

Traffic congestion on A6 Garstang Road in Fulwood, Preston, near hospital junction.

Slow traffic on A59 Guild Way in Preston at the Wellfield Road junction, because of a traffic light failure.

A583 Watery Lane in Ashton-on-Ribble, Preston busy but moving between Last Orders junction and Fylde Tavern traffic lights.
