Round-up of North West traffic news

Main roads in east Lancashire are being gritted this afternoon. Snow, ice and road surface temperatures reaching -1.3C are predicted. Gritters will continue to patrol and monitor routes throughout the afternoon and overnight.

Main roads in south and central Lancashire will be gritted tonight from 10.30pm. After this evening’s rain dies off, frost and temperatures reaching -0.3C is expected, so there is a risk of ice across roads. Drivers are warned to be careful, especially on untreated roads.

On the M60 clockwise between junctions J4 and J5, there are currently delays of 10 minutes caused by congestion due to a broken down vehicle at junction J5. Normal traffic conditions expected from 4.30pm.

On the A628 westbound, between the junctions with the A616 and the A57, there are delays of 10 minutes due to heavy traffic. Normal traffic conditions expected from 4.45pm.

There is heavy traffic on A677 Preston New Road, in Blackburn, at the B6447 Billinge Avenue mini roundabout junction.

Traffic on A585 Amounderness Way in Poulton-Le-Fylde is busy but moving at River Wyre Roundabout.
