Latest news from the Lancashire Evening Post

The M56 eastbound exit slip at junction J7 is closed due to an overturned vehicle. The road is expected to re-open from 5pm.

A broken down vehicle has resulted in one lane being closed on the M6 northbound entry slip at junction J20. Minor delays are possible and normal traffic conditions are expected from 4.45 pm.

Main roads in north Lancashire will be gritted tonight from 4pm. Snow and ice is predicted and temperatures are due to reach -3.4C. Salt will be applied to all main roads.

All main roads in East Lancashire will be gritted this afternoon from 2pm. Snow and ice is predicted and temperatures are due to reach -3.7C. Precautionary salt will be applied to main roads and a number of gritters will also operate during the night to treat roads as necessary.

Roads in south and central Lancashire have been gritted and Lancashire County Council gritters will continue working through the night. Temperatures have fallen close to freezing and snow is expected.
