Round-up of traffic news in Lancashire
The M6 northbound is closed between junctions J35 near Carnforth, Lancashire, and J36 near Sizergh, Cumbria, following a serious collision.
The road is not expected to reopen before 5pm this evening.
Northbound traffic is advised to exit the M6 at J35, and follow the solid black triangle diversion signs taking the M601 to the A6, then the A6 north to the A590 east to rejoin the M6 at J36.
This route is unsuitable for high sided vehicles over 12’3”. Vehicles in this category should divert from J35 along the A6070 via Burton in Kendal. Weight restrictions on this route have been rescinded by police for the duration of the closure.
On the A628 westbound between the junctions with the A616 and the A57, there are currently delays of 15 minutes due to heavy traffic. Normal traffic conditions expected from 4pm.
