Three of Chorley’s major town centre car parks are to undergo work to revamp and renew their surfaces.
Starting this week, the Chorley Council-owned and managed car parks will have to be closed to allow the work to take place.
However, it will be staggered to ensure that only one car park is affected at a time.
Fleet Street car park will be the first to be improved.
It will be closed from today for around seven weeks, affecting the short stay and temporary free car park.
The car park behind the newly refurbished former McDonald’s site, which has temporarily been used as a free car park, will join together with the Fleet Street short stay car park, creating a large parking area working on a pay and display tariff.
Work to the three car parks is expected to take around 20 weeks.
It is due to be completed in mid-September.
