Lancashire’s residents are being invited to give their opinion on the county council’s new highways and transport masterplan.
Key proposals include completing the Penwortham Bypass, installing new Park and Ride sites in Broughton, Hutton and Cuerden, building a new railway station in Cottam.
County Coun Tim Ashton said: “The master plan sets out proposals designed to ensure Lancashire has a transport system that will support a diverse and growing economy in the future.
“Many of the proposals in the master plan are based on the need to provide for the future housing and business growth set out in district council plans.
“It is proposed that a significant proportion of the costs of implementing the master plan, some £97 million, would be funded by developers.
“These are important issues affecting the whole community, so we’re running this consultation to give residents and businesses a chance to have their say.”
A consultation event about completing the Penwortham Bypass will be held on Thursday, January 31 at Penwortham Community Centre in Kingsfold Drive, from 11am to 8pm.
