Santa Special trains are being run this Christmas time by West Lancashire Light Railway.

On December 14, 15, 21 and 22, children and their families have the chance to board a steam locomotive, which will take them to Toyland, where they can meet Father Christmas and receive a gift.

As darkness falls, Toyland becomes an enchanted place, a woodland glade lit only by fairy lights, the fire in the engine and the glow of Santa’s stove.

Trains depart every 30 minutes from the station in Station Road, Hesketh Bank, starting at 10.30am. The last departure is 4.30pm.

Fares are £7 for children and £3.50 for adults, with sweets, balloons, mince pies and gifts included.

Call 01772 815881.
