Chorley’s colourful and creative floral displays during the summer so impressed independent judges the town has been chosen to represent the whole of the North West in a prestigious national competition.
Chorley Council won the gold award for its vibrant displays across the borough for the second year running in the annual North West in Bloom competition.
But for the first time, the judges have put the town forward to represent the whole region in the Royal Horticultural Society’s Britain in Bloom 2014.
Councillor Adrian Lowe, pictured, who oversees the borough’s floral displays, said: “We are absolutely delighted to be selected to represent the whole of the North West. It is a real feather in our cap and it’s testament to all the hard work from everyone involved to make the floral displays the best in the region.”
