From Monday, people needing the services of housing advice, welfare benefits advice and debt advice teams will need to visit the Contact Centre at Preston Town Hall.
Council bosses said saving money by moving services would improve the overall service to customers, in a better and more accessible environment.
Preston Council’s deputy leader, Coun John Swindells, said: “Staff in the council’s advice teams and Contact Centre carry out excellent work.
“For customers who need to visit the Contact Centre, they will now be able to carry out all their transactions at the same location, making it easier and a more efficient way of dealing with the council.”
As part of budget savings for 2014 to 2015, council offices at Birley Street are set to be closed.
