Three men have been arrested after police raided a house in Ribbleton, Preston, which they believed was connected with human trafficking.
The three, aged 33, 35 and 42, were arrested on suspicion of trafficking with a view to sexual exploitation.
Around 50 police and staff from the National Crime Agency raided the rented terraced house in Longworth Street early this morning.
Four women found at the property, all believed to have been brought to the UK from Romania, were taken to Bamber Bridge Police Station to be interviewed in the presence of interpreters.
The three arrested men, all Romanian, were being questioned at Preston police station.
The man in charge of the police raid, Insp Paul McLernon, said the operation had followed information from people in the neighbourhood.
“Anyone who has any concerns that people are being trafficked and exploited should contact us on 101,” he said. “This sort of thing can have a massive impact on the victims.”
