The Garstang Community Academy Pitch-In fundraising team is celebrating after another £2,500 was raised towards the school’s multi-sport pitch project.

More than 500 people pulled on their running shoes and took to the streets around Garstang for the annual 10K, this year’s runners achieving record breaking times.

A spokesman for Pitch-In said: “The fund raising focus this year was to raise money for Pitch-In – the academy project for a new all weather sports pitch .

“In total £2,500 was raised, £500 of which came from PSA refreshment sales.

“Thanks go to Garstang Ladies Hockey Club, Rotary and Lions who generously gave their time to steward together with Booths and Sainsburys for providing food.”

The next fund raising event for Pitch-In is a dog walk around Beacon Fell.
